Structural Capacity
  • Adoption of a system not conditioned by the dimensions of transport and therefore with freedom to choose the geometry of the tower, allowing a structural optimization in its resistance capacity, natural frequency control and dynamic performance.
  • As a result: Capacity to reach increased hub heights and to support wind generators of great power on-shore and off-shore.
  • Important improvement in the structural damping and therefore in the dynamic behaviour, reducing the fatigue loads and contributing to a longer lifetime of the equipments and a reduction in the maintenance requirements.
  • Joints between pieces that are ductile, reliable, tested, certified and maintenance-free, with an easy and fast execution on the field, and providing all the advantages of the structural monolithic system.
  • Optimum response to seismic actions due to the high ductility of all the sections of the tower, including the joints, and high structural damping which increases in situations of extreme load. This makes the structure capable of absorbing and dissipating high quantities of energy in case of an earthquake, in a clear contrast with the behaviour of the current metal towers.
